Nine Envergistans showed their writing prowess in this year’s Tobias Y. Enverga Essay Writing Contest and Pagsulat ng Sanaysay at Tula during the 72nd Founding Anniversary celebration of the University, Feb. 19, at the MSEUF Library Seminar Hall.
Eighteen scribes from different departments competed in “Essay Writing Contest” and “Pagsulat ng Sanaysay at Tula.”
Students from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences(CNAHS), and College of Education (CEd) reign as winners in the Essay Writing Contest.
Meanwhile, participants from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), College of Engineering (CEng), and CAS won the three prizes in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay.
Moreover, there are also three winners from CED, CAS, and CEng for the Pagsulat ng Tula contest.
Francis Ernest Jalbuena from CAS, Filipino essay writer Angelo Mercado from CBA, and Ann Katherine Obciana from CEd seized the championship award in Esssay Writing, Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, and Pagsulat ng Tula, respectively.
Lianne Isabelle Jalbuena from CNAHS, Mikaela Tapic from CEng, and Joy Vencel Osela of CAS garnered second place in respective competitions.
Lastly, Landing on the third spots were Khristine Joy Lusterio from CED, Carmela Miranda from CAS, and Wyeanne Nichole Gamboa from CEng.
All the winners receive medals, certificate of participation, and a cash prize.
The contests are a yearly activity to give students the opportunity to demonstrate their writing talents and to express their altruistic values and philosophical explorations that can be used for self-exploration, gratification, and healing for a lifetime during the university’s celebration of foundation week.
